Faculty Achievement

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has been selected as the 2023 recipient of the Theodore Roethke Memorial Poetry Award from Saginaw Valley State University.  

Professor Todd Davis recently had his poem "Foxfire," from his new book, "Coffin Honey," featured on Poetry Daily.

The Big Ten Academic Alliance's Department Executive Officers program has gained five additional fellows from the Penn State ranks. Penn State’s participants for the 2022 program were selected based on their significant contributions and potential to achieve even more as University leaders.

"The Restless Crucible," the debut novel of Penn State Altoona Professor Yaw Agawu-Kakraba, will be released on June 19.

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has two poems featured in the June 2022 issue of Poetry magazine, which, according to the publication, is “the oldest monthly devoted to verse in the English-speaking world.”

The Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses has recognized two faculty members from across Penn State with the Jack P. Royer Active and Collaborative Learning Award.

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has signed a contract to republish her book of poetry, “The River is Rising.”

Erin Murphy, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has been named the inaugural Poet Laureate of Blair County, a volunteer position that involves promoting poetry in the community.

The Institutes of Energy and the Environment awarded seed grants to 21 groups of interdisciplinary researchers for the 2021–22 cycle.
